Most kids like slime. It’s fun to play with, can be any colour, is great for grossing out your sister, really what’s the downside? And since Minecraft have a Slime Mob (character) its an easy connection to make to incorporate the two for a party favour at your Minecraft party. You can make your very own slime mob for kids to take home or they can make them during the party as another activity.
You will need
Green food colouring
Make the slime by combining equal amount of water and PVA glue (ie ¼ Cup of each) and mix well.
Add a few drops of food colouring and stir.
Add twice the amount of liquid starch to glue (ie ½ Cup) and mix. Keep mixing and test the consistency as you do. Once you are able to mix fast and it all gathers around the spoon your slime is done.
Draw a slime mob face on the lid of your container with a Sharpie.
Fill the container with slime, put the lid back on and hey presto, one slime mob ready to play with.
Things to note about this recipe:
It is a runny slime so getting watertight containers works better if you plan on letting the kids have them during the party.
It’s the starch that makes the slime thicker and stick together so adding more glue just makes it runnier. Add a bit more starch if you want to try for a thicker slime but remember kids are going to be touching it.
Clear PVA glue gives the slime a more transparent look but white PVA glue works better for some reason.
I suggest square containers as that is the shape a Slime is but if you cant find any, having the slime face on a container will still get the kids excited.
Instead of using a Sharpie to draw a face on you could use googly eyes or bead and glue them.
These would also be a great item to craft as a prize in the recipe game.
